BP America Production Company ("BP"), formerly known as Amoco Production Company, a Delaware
Corporation, with an office at 501 WestLake Park Blvd., Houston, Texas 77079, does hereby release, relinquish,
and surrender, subject to the terms hereof, all of its right, title and interest in and to those certain oil and gas
leases ("Leases") described on Exhibit "A " attached hereto and made a part hereof, insofar and only insofar as
the Leases cover the "Released Lands" described for each Lease in Exhibit "A", and further insofar and only
insofar as the Leases cover depths and formations deeper than the stratigraphic equivalent of 100 feet below the
base of the Frontier formation. The base of the Frontier formation is defined as the base of the coarsening
upward sequence as depicted by well log gamma ray curve occurring at a measured depth of 11,807 feet in the
BP America Production Company CHAMPLIN 186 I #2 (API No. 4904120840), located in Section 13, T18N,
R113W, Uinta County, Wyoming.
This Partial Release of Oil and Gas Leases (this "Partial Release") is executed and delivered pursuant to
and in compliance with, and is subject to the terms, covenants and conditions contained in that certain Land Grant
Settlement Agreement dated August 20, 1990, and made effective September 1,1990, by and between Amoco
Production Company and Union Pacific Resources Company,
This Partial Release may encompass all or portions of Leases, acreage or depths previously assigned or
otherwise transferred by BP, or its predecessors in title, to third parties prior to the effective date of the Land Grant
Settlement Agreement This Partial Release is not intended and shall not be interpreted to affect in any way
whatsoever the rights of any such third parties in or to the Leases or any portion thereof.
This Partial Release shall in no way cover or affect any portion of the Leases other than that specifically
described herein, and BP excepts and reserves from this Partial Release all Lease lands and depths not
specifically described herein, BP further excepts and reserves from this Partial Release the right of ingress and
egress across the Released Lands, together with the right of access to and use of the surface of the Released
Lands and all depths thereunder, for the purpose of exploring, drilling, developing, operating or any other purpose
incidental to the rights and interest retained by BP, and its successors and assigns, in the Leases.
