RESOLUTION NO. 2008-6

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by a certain property owner regarding the
annexation to the Town of Thayne, of property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the petition is in proper form;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Governing Body of the Town of
Thayne:
1.
That a hearing be held on May 14th, June 11th, and July 9th, 2008, at 6:30
p.m. to determine:
a. If the annexation of the area is for the protection ofthe health, safety
and welfare of the persons residing in the area and in the Town of
Thayne.
b. Ifthe urban development of the area sought to be annexed would
constitute a natural, geographical, economical and social part of the
Town of Thayne.
c. Ifthe area sought to be annexed is a local and feasible addition to the
Town of Thayne and the extension of basic and other services
continuously available to residents of the Town of Thayne can
reasonably be furnished to the area sought to be annexed.
d. Ifthe area sought to be annexed is contiguous with or adjacent to the
Town of Thayne.
e. If the Town of Thayne is prepared to designate an electric utility to
serve the annexed area.

2. That the Clerk has given notice ofthe public hearing by the publication of
said annexation at least twice in the Star Valley Independent and by
mailing a copy of the published notice to the property owners in the area
sought to be almexed.
3. That the Petition shall provide a legal description of the area sought to be
annexed.
