AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE NWl/4 OF SECTION 6, T31N, Rl18W, IN
LINCOLN COUNTY, WYOMJNG, TO THE TOWN OF AFTON AND APPROVING THE
BRADLEY D. MOREHOUSE/ TED C. & BETTY B. FROME/ LEON T. & LAUREL D.
MERRlTT ANNEXATION TO THE TOWN OF AFTON.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF AFTON:
WHEREAS, the Govel11ing Body has reviewed a Petition to annex the propeliy
hereinafter described into the Town of Afton by a majority of the landowners owning a majority
ofland in the area sought to be annexed.
WHEREAS, the Govel11ing Body of the Town of Afton has found that:
1. A Notice of Hearing on the proposed annexation was published in the Star Valley
Independent not less than thirty (30) days prior to the date of the public hearing;
2. A copy of the published notice was sent to each property owner owning property within
the area sought to be annexed;
3, The Petition for Annexation is signed by a majority of the owners owning a majority of
the area sought to be annexed;
4. That the annexation of the area hereinafter described is for the health, safety, and welfare
of the persons residing in the area sought to be annexed;

that:
The area sought to be annexed would constitute a natural, geographical, economical, and
social part of the Town of Afton;
The area sought to be annexed is a logical and feasible addition to the Town 0 f Afton
and the extension of the basic and other services continuously available to residents of
the Town of Afton can reasonably be ful11ished to the area sought to be annexed;
The area sought to be annexed is contiguous with or adjacent to the Town of Afton;
CUlTently, the property owner in the area sought to be annexed is not connected to the
municipal water and sewer system. Before any development of the subdivision can
occur, water and sewer will need to be available for each lot before any phase of the
subdivision can be approved.
The Goveming Body is prepared to issue such franchises as are necessary to public
electric utilities to serve the annexed area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Govel11ing Body of the Town of Afton

1. The area described in the petition be annexed to the Town of Afton.
2. That the Town limits be expanded to reflect the annexation.
3, That all issues pertaining to the water and sewer services proposed to be annexed will be
resolved before fmal enactment of the annexation.
4, The developer will be responsible for the construction and installation of all utilities in
the event the Town of Afton is unable to obtain a grant fl.·om the State of Wyoming or the
Federal Govemment to cover the costs.
5, That upon annexation, the zoning of the property will be zoned as (C-2), Commercial,
along the highway fl.·ontage and (R-l), Residential for the property sUlTounding the golf
course with the golf course being zoned as (A-I), Agriculture.

SUBDIVISION INTO THE TOWN OF AFTON.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF AFTON:
WHEREAS, the Goveming Body has reviewed a petition to annex the property
hereinafter described into the Town of Afton by a majority of the landowners owning a majority
of land in the area sought to be annexed.

S. The developer will cover any deficiency or remaining amount of fees not covered
by the grant.
6. The developer will provide all required easements and right of ways on the
propeliy to the Town of Afton.
