AGENCY CORRESPONDENCE: Lincoln County Weed & Pest Control District: Noted that the area was inspected and found no noxious weeds present, but this area is known for having Musk Thistle. If Musk Thistle is found on the property it needs to be treated with Herbicide in the May or June of next year timeline. If any other noxious weeds do appear the landowner will need to treat this issue themselves or hire a commercial applicator. They can feel free to call Lincoln County Weed and Pest for help on a weed management plan or a list of commercial applicators. Star Valley Conservation District: Noted that due to groundwater levels that are very close to the surface in this area, SVCD strongly recommends soil cuts to determine groundwater levels. In areas in which ground water is high, we recommend an enhanced septic system and shallow or no basements. We also recommend that soil cuts be taken in the spring/early summer when groundwater is highest. If soil cuts are done at other times know that static water levels fluctuate according to the amount of high-water runoff from year to year.
